Box Turtle Tales Part1

Earlier today we found a box turtle making a nest. She, for a box turtle, was normal. Here are some photos of the mother turtle, whom we have named Ping Pong, digging.

And after watching her dig for a while, I was so lucky as to catch the first egg dropping in on film! (video 1) It was an epic moment. I also got a good photo of the egg laying. 

The eggs were some what larger than I expected, they really do look like ping pong balls. The photo is of egg number four. I soon lost count of how many eggs there were. Then I went to the park, and when I got back I saw that Ping Pong was leaving, so I took this video clip. (video 2) Sorry about the cut off at the end. After dinner I rushed out to see the nest. It wasn't that interesting to look at.

But it is a little more interesting when you really look close. You can even see the scratch marks from Ping Pong's claws. Here is a little clip that I made while looking at the nest. (video 3) That is all for today. I'll post the videos tomorrow.
